Crazy Stupid Love

I had expected this to be a routine run of the mill romantic comedy. But it is much fresher than the contemporary movies and quite a feel good experience. Crazy Stupid Love comes with a strong ensemble cast and somehow the whole package; the actors, the narrative, the nature of love stories and the treatment, makes it a level above the usual stuff.

Rio

Rio is about good things we have in this world; the love, the beauty, the music and the emotions. It is a light hearted fun filled movie with spectacular visuals.

Water for Elephants

It is old-fashioned, sentimental and melodramatic but an honest adaptation of a best seller novel (Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants). Some will love it for its simplicity and some will loathe it for the very same reason. Some will find it moving while others will find it bizarre. Its pace and treatment makes it "not everyone's piece of cake".

Source Code

Source Code is a fast paced sci-fi thrilling affair. It appears to test brains but it serves better if they are allowed to rest. It brings a big idea and the idea is interesting enough to keep all glued to screens for an hour and a half. It tries in vain at length to explain the idea through calculus and electromagnetics- is it really important? Avatar, Inception... no one cared to think.
